The poor should be able to avail first class medical services in an environment that is affordable, congenial and rural based.
ABLE Charities was started with the intention of working in the rural areas where the medical facilities were totally lacking. Even if some rudimentary facilities had been conceived by the Government, those were not properly implemented.
It was felt that a proper hospital should be created in a rural area to provide basic medical facilities that the poor in the area could afford. The main aim of this mission was that every one using the hospital's facilities should feel comfortable in doing so. The rural based setting would help the poor in saving scarce resources on unnecessary travel to cities and would allow family members to remain in contact with the patient – medical facility being within everyday rural travel distance.
Thus, we went ahead and created the ABLE Charitable Hospital, which has since grown to become one of the best within the district, and it continues to render medical aid to the poor esp. the orphans, widows and their children whose number is approx about 900 with in 20 km of the hospital.
During the last two years we have launched the following programme.
a). WIDOWS MEDICAL AID PROGRAMME. Under this programme we have 250 widows and effort to enroll 750 more is being made and we hope to complete this work by end of the year
b). MEDICAL AND EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR ORPHANS AND CHILDREN OF WIDOWS. Under this progrmme ABLE provides comprehensive free medical cover and education in private schools. The total cost for provision of these services is over $50000 per year. We plan to increase from the existing 230 children with ABLE to 1000 children within one year. Some other international organizations like SMILE FOUNDATION, CONCERN INDIA AND SAVERA have also joined us in our programs
c.) 4000 FREE DELIVERIES 4000 free deliveries with the help of SMILE FOUNDATION who have very kindly come forward to support us with Rs. 45 Lakh or $1,10,000 over a period of three years. The aim of this programme is to reduce if not stop female feticide and also try to eliminate maternal and - or infant mortality in the villages which is very high by international standard.
We also aim to reduce or cut the FEMALE FETICIDE with the help of this program.
FUTURE PLANS
A PLAN HAS BEEN FINALISED WITH THE SUPPORT FROM A NGO 'SAVERA' TO START A RESIDENTIAL PLACE FOR 500 ORPHANS GIRLS FROM VILLAGES WHO WOULD HAVE COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND CARE HOME RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOSPITAL.
SUPPORT FROM BIG NGO's :- Some other international organizations like SMILE FOUNDATION, CONCERN INDIA AND SAVERA have also joined us in our programms started doing this work in India after partnership with us and gaining experience in the subject
