EDUCATION
We, as a family are working to provide better opportunity to
the suffering, neglected, abandoned children.
Poverty creates disharmony and brings
frustration to the families. The destitute and
orphans are seen everywhere in our society. Our
goal is to give hope to the helpless and
disappointed human lives. Our project is to
fulfill our dream by bringing a transformation
in the lives of these children.
As a matter of principal we have decided to impart education to only
ORPHANS and children of widows, who are below
the poverty line, and also gave comprehensive
medical cover to these children. It is our
experience, born out of ten years interaction
with children of widows that by and large these
children are highly motivated, desires of
getting educated so as to be at par with
children having parents or belonging to hire
castes. This has resulted in practically 98% of
children having passed their classes in above
average grades
Friends,
I wholeheartedly welcome you to be a partner of
this society of compassion. Here is the

Despite its obvious benefits, formal education is not universally
accessible to every child. Education in rural areas of Haryana has
been and remains a luxury, a luxury often unattainable for those
occupying disadvantaged stations in life.
Literacy, professional advancement and, in general, success in life
are all results of a solid educational background.
ABLE is working actively to provide education to orphans and children of widows. These would not have studied
if not for ABLE's support.
ABLE envisages a world where
everyone, even the most disadvantaged, receive adequate education to
prepare them for a productive life.
These children belong to that section of society which has
always been underprivileged and downtrodden. Now these children are
being given an opportunity to build their lives. Just like all other children, these
children also have feelings and emotions, in fact they are more
sensitive than the other children. We require your help in providing
them education, love and affection.
It was in March 1995
that the harrowing story of a poor child was brought to the notice of
Mr. P.K.Khullar. He was informed that a father and son were
literally starving because of no income and illness of the
father. The father was brought to ABLE medical centre, checked by Dr Tiwari,
and found to be suffering from tuberculosis. The man informed us that he had no money to buy the
medicines for treating his TB. He also had no money to go on a
regular basis to the Civil Hospital Palwal about
15 km away to avail of their free services. He pleaded that
some money should be given to him so that he could start
his business of selling toffees etc. in front of the village school
and earn some livelihood for his son and himself. His son had
stopped going to school because of lack of funds for books and other
requirements. It was then that the idea of adding education support
to poor children in general and the children of widows and poor
women were conceived. This child was given a financial support in
the form of books, the basic village school fee, some clothes and
writing material. However, the father because of his sickness could
not carry on and expired after 3 months. The child was
brought under the wings of ABLE and given a monthly grant of Rs.300/-
for his day-to-day living expenses and continuation of
education in school. After some time it was found that since the
child had no guardian
responsible enough to look after him, he was not utilizing
his time properly and wasting our resources by playing most of the
time. It was in 1996, that SOS was approached to take this child
which was agreed by Shri J. N. Kaul, Chairman of SOS Villages and
today the child is a bright student studying in a college having a
very bright future and hoping to be an engineer. This idea of
supporting the poor children educationally was further pursued and
we started supporting the education of other children.
Our
efforts of education of wards of poor got a big boost with Mr. J.
N. Kaul's visit to ABLE Hospital in village Bahrola on 12th March
2004. After meeting our children he liked the idea tremendously and
gave a sanction for identifying 20-25 more children of widows in the
villages so that educational grant to them could be given. He also
gave a sustenance grant to 3 physically incapacitated widows of
Rs.500/- per month. It was great of him to acknowledge
the need of education in these rural areas.
ABLE'S SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF WIDOWS The
idea of medical and education of children of widows and orphans was
initiated by ABLE in 1995 and excepted by SOS as a mater of great
importance to this most deprive segment of Indian society it took
ABLE nearly ten years to undertake on its on. Where as SOS as
decided to go alone ABLE CHARITIES has taken of on its on starting
with 131 children in 2007 and 235 in 2008. All these children are
orphans or children of widows.
We have today a growing family of these children and the target is
1000 children of widows and orphans by the end of the year 2008.We
have taken the services from 11 schools from 8 villages where these
student s are studding. These 230 children come from 25 Villages
This means that as per our best efforts no school going child of any
widow in these villages isleft out who is not under the care of ABLE
Charities.
We hope that more and more philanthropic people will come
forward to adopt more children so that we can provide comprehensive
medical and education cover
